It takes just one ambitious young person to break apart a century-old stagnating industry.

When I was 14 years old, all I wanted to do was become a soccer player. It was my dream. But I was never supported by anyone.

I was pushed down the conventional path. Study. Memorise. Get tutored. The only thing that mattered were my grades. What I wanted to do in the future did not matter at all. If I got 70%, that was a failure. If I got 100%, that was a success. That was all my childhood boiled down to. I hated it.

At the end of year 12, I got my ATAR. It was 98. To me and my family, it was a failure.

In emotional turmoil, I even changed my preferred course from engineering to biomedicine. Just so I wouldn't 'lose face'. I hated that term.

After years of anxiety, stress, the feeling of never being good enough — I realised what I actually wanted.

By building businesses, that was my way of creating freedom for myself. I built a novel translation platform because I loved reading novels. I built a YouTuber agency because I loved YouTubers. And now, I'm building the future of education, because I absolutely despise the education I grew up with.
